Delete your account
How to delete your House of Ovelle account and the data attached to it. Last updated 1 October 2026.
In the app
Open the House of Ovelle app and go to Account → Delete account. Before you confirm, the screen lists exactly what will be removed, counted from your actual records rather than described in general terms. The deletion happens immediately.
By request
If you no longer have the app installed, email sales@houseofovelle.com from the address on your account with the subject Delete my account. We will confirm by reply and complete it within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your customer record with us: email address and name.
- Your refill history — every reading the app used to estimate fragrance levels.
- Push notification tokens for every device, and the history of what was sent to you.
- Any warranty claims you opened, including open ones.
- Any messages you sent us from the app's Help screen.
- Your membership of a shared household, and anything you contributed to it.
What happens to your store account
Your House of Ovelle store account and order history are held by Shopify, which is the system of record for purchases. When you delete your account we ask Shopify to erase its customer record as well. Shopify schedules that erasure and holds the record while any legal retention window is open — an order placed recently keeps it alive until that window closes. We would rather tell you that than claim an order history is gone when it demonstrably is not.
What survives, and why
Warranty cover is kept, with you removed from it. Cover belongs to the diffuser, not to the account: House of Ovelle owes those twelve months on that unit whoever is holding it. So the record stays, with your customer ID, order ID and order number stripped out and the record marked anonymised. It can no longer be connected to you, and the next person to register that unit inherits the remaining cover along with the original purchase date.
We also keep a one-way hash of the deleted account ID and the date, so we can show a deletion was carried out. It contains nothing that could rebuild the account.
Anything on your phone
Room photographs, diffuser passcodes and the greeting name never left your phone in the first place. Deleting the app removes them.
